Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Loans Ontario and our referral service. Please read them carefully before accessing our site or connecting with a lender.
1. Service Overview
Loans Ontario is an information and referral service, not a lender. We connect borrowers across Canada—including Ontario—with licensed payday loan providers and other credit solutions. We do not originate loans, set interest rates, or make lending decisions. Our role is to match your financial situation with lenders who may be able to help.
By using this site, you acknowledge that you are seeking information about payday loans and other short-term credit products, and that you may be referred to third-party lenders for application and approval.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
To use Loans Ontario, you must be:
- At least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your province)
- A Canadian resident
- Able to provide accurate personal and financial information
You represent and warrant that all information you provide is true, complete, and accurate. Providing false information may result in denial of service or referral, and may violate applicable laws.
3. Your Responsibilities
When you submit an inquiry through Loans Ontario, you agree to:
- Provide truthful, current contact and financial information
- Review the privacy practices and terms of any lender you are referred to
- Understand that referral to a lender does not guarantee approval or any specific loan terms
- Read and comply with the terms of any loan agreement you enter into
- Repay any loan according to the lender's agreement
You are solely responsible for evaluating whether a loan product is appropriate for your financial situation. If you are unsure, seek independent financial or legal advice.
4. Referral Process and No Guarantee of Approval
Loans Ontario matches your information with lenders in our network. We welcome all credit situations, but referral does not mean approval. Each lender makes independent lending decisions based on their own underwriting criteria, which may include credit history, income verification, employment status, and other factors.
Lenders may request additional documentation, conduct background or credit checks, or deny your application. The terms, interest rates, fees, and repayment schedules offered by lenders are determined solely by those lenders and are not set or controlled by Loans Ontario.
5. Responsible Borrowing
Payday loans and short-term credit products carry significant costs and are intended for emergency or short-term needs only. Before borrowing, consider whether you can repay the loan in full by the due date. Rolling over or renewing a loan may increase the total cost significantly.
For more information on responsible borrowing practices, please review our Responsible Borrowing guide.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on Loans Ontario—including text, graphics, logos, images, and software—is the property of Loans Ontario or its content providers and is protected by Canadian copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loans Ontario and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or any referral, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or business interruption—even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the site shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any).
8. Third-Party Links and Lender Terms
Loans Ontario may link to or refer you to third-party lenders, websites, and services. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third parties. Your use of any lender's site or services is governed by their terms of service and privacy policy, not ours.
We encourage you to review each lender's terms, fees, and privacy practices before submitting an application or signing any agreement.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Your personal and financial information is collected, used, and protected according to our Privacy Policy. By using Loans Ontario, you consent to the collection and sharing of your information with lenders in our network for the purpose of processing your referral and loan application.
10. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Loans Ontario for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm, disrupt, or interfere with the site or our services. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing false or fraudulent information
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Transmitting viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing our staff or partners
- Impersonating another person or entity
- Using automated tools to scrape or copy content
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your access to the site and referral to law enforcement if warranted.
11. Disclaimers
Loans Ontario provides information and referral services on an "as-is" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any content for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or harmful components.
We are not a lender, financial advisor, or credit counselor. Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. If you need professional guidance, please consult a qualified financial advisor, lawyer, or credit counselor in Ontario or your province.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and your use of Loans Ontario are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario for any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the site.
13. Changes to These Terms
Loans Ontario reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the site. Your continued use of the site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically for updates.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Contact and Dispute Resolution
If you have questions about these terms or wish to report a concern, please contact us through the contact information provided on our site. We will make reasonable efforts to address your inquiry promptly.
For concerns about a specific lender or loan agreement, please contact that lender directly or file a complaint with the appropriate provincial regulator or consumer protection agency in Ontario.
16. Entire Agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, constitute the entire agreement between you and Loans Ontario regarding your use of this site and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, and agreements, whether written or oral.
